Background:
- Talkback Thames is one of the UK's most successful production companies
- They had piloted a new gardening programme for Channel 5, the premise being they would scrutinise 12 of the country's most extraordinary gardens and the winner would receive a National Gardens Scheme Gold Medal
- One of the experts on the programme was a renowned garden designer, author and critic and they wanted her to not only be a judge, but also co-present by delivering expert tips to camera
- The expert was finding this hard, particularly getting across her wonderfully mischievous personality on-camera
- She'd never done anything like this before, so producers came to us for help
Solution:
- A two-hour coaching session in one of our team members' gardens!
Results:
- The presenter quickly improved in both competence and confidence, letting herself go much more than she'd previously thought able to
- The programme, I Own Britain's Best Home and Garden and fronted by Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, was a ratings success and the expert, Anne Wareham was a hit with viewers
